Meet the poet!

Hello,

This is My Story

During Covid when I could be alone and quiet I finished writing  ‘After the Blossom’ and thought that everyone should write their memoir. We all come with our own story of events that shaped us and attitudes we were inculcated with that determined how and why we lived our lives.

Writing my story helped me find my bearings as a writer, but poetry is now my refuge, and the table in my kitchen, with the computer and the printer, and reams of typing paper, is now my writing space.

People ask me what my poems are about and I say, “just a collection of cuttings from my busy life, happy days and unblessed moments, the qualities of strangers I met along the way and all the colours of the sun and wind woven in the loom of memory and of times and places I have known and a bit about my faith."

And, I remember with love my husband Keith, whose wisdom influenced me and deeped my capacity to relate to trauma. As a result, all royalties from the sales of my books go to Blesma – the Limbless Veterans.

I hope you like my work, that you recognize times and places you have known and can immerse yourself in words and silence and that it gives you hope.

Janet's work can be found anywhere books are sold.
